They're an ever expanding and busy independent workshop with a wealth of experience and passion for what they do. NECS have the skills and tools to service almost any vehicle - from the latest Mercedes SLK to an original Model A Ford. That includes interaction with electronics and computers on late model vehicles.
David Musk has worked on continental vehicles for more than 40 years, starting with an apprenticeship with Mercedes and BMW and later running his own successful workshop in the UK before moving out to New Zealand with his family 6 years ago and starting up NECS.
In that time he and his sons have grown the business and expanded the workshop on their Brightwater property. By not paying high rents in a central location NECS is able to keep overheads low and pass savings on to their customers and being semi-rural affords them to work as late as they like without disturbing the neighbourhood or letting their dinner go cold. Their free pick-up and drop-off service makes for an even more convenient customer experience than what you might find centrally.
In addition to automotive engineering, collectively the guys have amassed a broad range of qualifications and skill sets. these include: Arc Welding, Auto-electrical wiring, Panel beating and Spray painting. They're pretty clever when it comes to sourcing spare parts, and it they can't get it they'll make it. The workshop has an extensive array of tools for metal fabrication and the guys have the know-how to make it happen.
You won't find a fancy service desk at NECS but you will be welcomed by some capable and experienced mechanics who are willing to help, who'll provide sound advice and get you back on the road.
